About Us

Welcome to the South West Laryngological Association. This is a non-profit making organisation to promote training and education in Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery in the South West of England and Wales.

The SWLA holds two academic meetings every year and promotes education through prizes and awards available to all practitioners associated with ENT surgery.

Registration and Membership

Annual Membership is £60 for Consultants and £30 for non-consultant grades. This includes the registration fee for both Spring and Winter Meetings. Annual Membership is £10 for medical students (free if presenting).

The SWLA welcomes applications for membership from Consultants, SAS Doctors and Specialist Registrars in Otolaryngology as well as General Practitioners with a special interest in ENT. We also welcome all Allied Healthcare Professionals, Medical Students and Foundation Year / Core Training Doctors as associate members.

We aim to recognise outstanding achievements in the region, nurture our local talent and encourage those still in training. Traditionally, the SWLA has held twice yearly academic and social meetings. The meetings are structured around training days and in combination with other medical societies such as the Regional Training Committee, the Anglo-French exchange, the MIO and the ORS. The recently elected executive committee wishes to develop these future activities to reflect the changing face of our speciality both regionally and throughout the UK.

Executive Committee:
